The 1st Tuesday Fundraising Event is an ongoing concert series that began in December of 2008 as a fundraiser for the Comox Valley Food Bank Society. In our search for a regular venue, we were very fortunate to have garnered the support and sponsorship of the Mex Pub in Courtenay. The Mex Pub has a history of showing support for live music in the valley, as well as the musicians who make it.
On the first Tuesday of each month, we invite a featured guest to join us at the Mex Pub in Courtenay for an evening of music in support of a local charity. Admission is a suggested cash donation of $10 or more, and non-perishable food donations are also appreciated and welcomed.
All cash donations as well as CD sales from contributing artists during 2009 were donated to the Comox Valley Food Bank Society. At the beginning of 2010, we decided to include other charities in our fundraising efforts. The featured guest can now decide which local charity they would like the cash donations to support, such as The Comox Valley Hospice Society and the Comox Valley Transition Society.
